15.3. I2C_COMPONENT_MASTER_POLLING

15.3.1. Overview

  • This example demonstrates the functionality of I2C as a master using polling to transfer data. It includes accessing memory data and pure data of specific slave device registers.

  • Memory access: The I2C master first writes data to the slave device’s register memory, then reads the data back from the same register memory, and compares the read and written data.

  • Pure data access: The I2C master first writes data to the slave device, then reads the data back, and compares the read and written data.

15.3.2. Tips

  • When using hpm_i2c_master_addr_write_blocking and hpm_i2c_master_addr_read_blocking APIs, the endianness of the addr parameter depends on the addr_endianness member of the context parameter. When it is i2c_master_addr_big_endian, the addr transmission is in big-endian mode, otherwise it is in little-endian mode.

15.3.3. Board Setting

connect I2C Pins on the two boards。

15.3.4. Running the example

  • Run slave first, and then run master.

  • When the example runs successfully, the log would be seen on the terminal like:

i2c components master use polling
